Writing since childhood, L. Valentin sought an outlet outside of conventional publishing and media from which to air her work. She found this possibility in the hands-on art of letterpress, learned via an apprenticeship with master printer Peter Kruty of Peter Kruty Editions (Sunset Park, Brooklyn), and following via a Work/Study Award granted her in 2007-2009 by The Center for Book Arts (NYC, NY). Currently, Lindsay is working on collaborative chapbook editions for Small Anchor Press, printed at the Jane Mead Timken Printshop in Midtown Manhattan. She has also done work for Stonington Design + Paperie of CT, and has just completed a broadside commission for CBA's Poets Reading Series and the poet Evie Shockley, as well as a limited edition album cover for the duo Oliva's Road and the Boulder, Colorado Ephemera Exchange. L. continues to print broadsides of her own work, as well as broadsides, business cards, invitations etc. for others. Her letterpress can be found on The Emerging Writers Network, www.smallanchorpress.com, www.centerforbookarts.org, www.redroom.com and www.joshuacohen.org. She has been a contributor to GO NYC Magazine, Small Anchor Press, www.associatedcontent.com, www.iexplore.com, Sloth Jockey - www.slothjockey.com, Not Another Guide and Hungry City Guides Chicago.
She is currently a graduate student at OTIS Los Angeles and is on press there at the Lab Press in Inglewood.
